Runs and Places

The Alphabet Challenge

I posted this in a few places and got some pretty interesting race ideas so I wanted to post it here too and see if I get any more….

Besides 50 states and 7 continents, I also wanted to see how close I was to having the whole alphabet covered for places I’ve done either a marathon or a half marathon in. Here’s what I have so far:

A = Atlantic City, NJ; Anchorage, AK
B = Birmingham, AL
C = Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH
D = Detroit, MI; Des Moines, IA
E = ???
F = Fargo, ND
G = Green Bay, WI
H = Houston, TX
I = Indianapolis, IN
J = Jackson, MS
K = ???
L = Louisville, KY; Las Cruces, NM; Las Vegas, NV; Little Rock, AR
M = Moshi, Tanzania; Myrtle Beach, SC
N = Nashville, TN; Napa, CA; New Orleans, LA
O = Orlando, FL; Oklahoma City, OK
P = Phoenix, AZ; Philadelphia, PA
Q = ???
R = ???
S = San Francisco, CA; Sonoma, CA; Sedona, AZ; Scottsdale, AZ; Seattle, WA; St. Charles, IL; St. Louis, MO; Savannah, GA
T = Tempe, AZ
U = ???
V = Virginia Beach, VA
W = Windsor, ON; Washington, DC
X = ???
Y = ???
Z = ???

Alphabet

I’m planning on doing the Zion Canyon, Utah half marathon in March, so that should take care of Z, and I also have a pretty good one in mind for R (more on that once I actually register for it)….. so I’m looking for suggestions for good races to check out in places that start with E, K, Q, U, X, or Y.

Some of the suggestions I’ve gotten so far are:

So I’m still looking for ideas for U and Y and I’m also still open to any other suggestions (for anyone who hasn’t already sent me ideas on Instagram or Twitter feel free to leave them in the comments or send me an email).

Also, if anyone else has every letter covered (or close to it, etc…), I’d be interested in seeing your list too. I’ll call this the Alphabet Challenge….

    (I think that’s how it is spelled)

    For your Y, but not sure what kind of races they host.

      Hey cool, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll have to look into that one for sure since it’s not too far from Chicago!
